Arizona local summer camp recipient, Jessica and her mom Jill enjoyed a week in Park City, Utah in July, 2008. Their summer camp experience included flights from Phoenix, car rental, lodging at The National Ability Center and summer camp enrollment for a week of fun activiites for Jessica. Jessica's Mom Jill stated "This was the best experience for Jessica..... the camp counselors were so patient and caring and made Jessica feel so special" See photos.

Sharon Valdez-Delgado
Sharon is 8 years old and was referred to us by her therapist at Shriner's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sharon lives in Phoenix and was paralyzed in a car accident when she was 4 years old. She only had a wheelchair and was in need of a special stander that would give her some additional positioning options. With the help of The National Charity League Sonoran Centennial Chapter we were able to purchase her stander for her.
Sydney's birthday celebration at Cochise Elementary
All the kids at Cochise were treated to free ice cream on Sydney's birthday. We remembered her beautiful smile and spirit and thanked the kids at Cochise for being such good friends to her!
Dylan Frawley - 1st Recipient of the Annual Summer Camp Scholarship in Park City, Utah
Dylan was chosen because his parent's expressed to us how moved they were by the "living" that Sydney did in her short life and they hoped for that for their son, Dylan, who has Autism. They told Sydney's story and collected money from everyone at the company they worked for to donate to The Sydney Hudson Foundation. They enjoyed a week in beautiful Park City, Utah. Dylan had fun horseback riding, swimming, water skiing, rock climbing and participating in the outdoor challenge course. Mom and Dad had fun biking, hiking, reading and relaxing.

We met the Brizuela family in the airport. Their beautiful daughter, Addis, reminded us so much of Sydney! We told them about the Foundation and they contacted us and expressed their need for a new tranmission for their handicap van. After meeting with our board we decided to purchase them a newer van that would provide them with dependable transportation to get Addis to and from her doctor's appointments.

We had blast with our 2008 team! Most of our group was from Cochise Elementary School. We had many special needs participants and lots of buddies to help them cross the finish line! We all need a little help from our friends...... and we all enjoyed the race together! We look forward to a much larger group next year and our new partnership with Our Lady of Perpetual Help School- welcome to our newest buddies! Team "Syd's Kids" is now being formed for the January 17 PF Chang's Kids Rock in Arizona. Email us if you are interested in joining our team.

Connor was scheduled for surgery in Salt Lake in March - We thought it would be fun to bring him to Park City for a little skiing and horseback riding before his hospital stay! Well the best layed plans don't always work out like we have plannned...... Connor unfortunately had some health issues as soon as he got up to Park City and had to go back down to Salt Lake without the fun events we had planned...... We look forward to rescheduling for another time with the Koopmand Family!!
